Ordnance Survey 1:25 000 First Series [Rights of Way Overprints]

As publication of the 1:25 000 Second Series crawled along in the 1970s, public demand for detailed maps showing Public Rights of Way information (where available) forced Ordnance Survey to overprint the Rights of Way information on fifteen selected 1:25 000 First Series sheets, as an interim measure. Of these, twelve sheets covered areas in north-west Wales, two were from Shropshire and one from Lancashire. The overprinted information was in green, as was the front cover text. All 1:25 000 First Series Rights of Way Overprints were published in 1977.
The aim of this collection theme is to acquire a copy of each 1:25 000 First Series sheet overprinted with Rights of Way information.
