Ordnance Survey 1:50 000 Landranger Integral Covers

In 1980, Ordnance Survey started printing its ‘Pathfinder’ sheets in such a way that the ‘cover’ and the map were printed on a single sheet of paper, and the ‘cover’ appeared on the outside when the map was folded. Keen to reduce costs, they tried the same on a small number of Landranger sheets, starting in the same year. However, the trial was obviously thought not to have been particularly successful, as the ‘integral’ covers only ever appeared on a very few Landranger sheets, and they were dropped altogether from the Landranger series after mid-1986.
The aim of this collection theme is to acquire a copy from each printing of the Landranger sheets with integral covers.
