2001-2002: A brief encounter
In 2001, the Travelmaster series was discontinued and split into two new series: the 1:250 000 Road Map series, and the 1:625 000 Routeplanner.

The maps were issued in a dark blue variant of the 1996 ‘house style’ design, with ‘defining images’ of Great Britain on the covers. (Figures 1, 2)
The ‘Routeplanner’ was short-lived: it was replaced in 2002 by the ‘Travel Map - Route’ product, launched as part of the new ‘Travel Map’ range.
